TBA - Shadowserver

TrustBroker Africa (TBA) collaborates with Shadowserver in the WACREN-Shadowserver cybersecurity project funded by GIZ. The project aims to enhance cybersecurity situational awareness across the West African research and education community. It empowers WACREN, through TBA, to function as a regional cyber threat intelligence hub.

Through this collaboration, TBA reinforces its commitment to strengthening cybersecurity capabilities across the region by supporting the development of operational response mechanisms, intelligence sharing, and capacity building. As part of the project, WACREN’s cybersecurity teams will receive specialised training in cyber threat intelligence, ensuring they can effectively interpret and act on Shadowserver data. A comprehensive cybersecurity threat landscape report for ECOWAS countries will also be produced, providing critical insights for policymakers and security teams to mitigate risks and improve regional resilience.

This initiative aligns with TBA’s broader mission of fostering cybersecurity collaboration across Africa. By facilitating connections between NREN CSIRTs and national CSIRTs, TBA contributes to a safer digital environment for research, education, and innovation.

The project will culminate in a presentation at a TrustBroker Africa event, where key achievements and lessons learned will be shared with the cybersecurity community. Through this partnership, TBA, WACREN, Shadowserver, and GIZ are taking a significant step towards building a more secure and informed cyberspace in West Africa.
